    COWI has a large acoustics staff with 25 employees, several of whom have extensive project experience both in Norway and internationally. We have acoustic experts at our offices in Trondheim, Førde, Bergen, Stavanger, Hamar, Oslo and Fredrikstad.

    Assessment of sound conditions in buildings, and noise and vibration management for e.g. industry and transport are our most important service areas. Sound conditions in buildings include sound insulation between rooms and different uses, room acoustics internally in rooms/halls, as well as noise from technical installations and external noise.

    Our acoustics team in Norway have a holistic approach to the design of, among other things, cultural and educational buildings, airports, hospital buildings and large transport projects, where we have a strong position nationally and internationally. Our service areas cover acoustics, noise, vibrations, electroacoustics, stage engineering and consultancy in cultural building projects.

    We have many varied and exciting assignments; do have a look at few mentioned below:

  • The Government Quarter ("Regjeringskvartalet")
  • National Theatre in Oslo ("Nationalteateret")
  • Fornebubanen
  • The hospitals of the future around the country

    • In addition to this, in the next 4 years we will work with consultancy for the acquisition of AV systems for all universities and colleges in Norway and help develop good infrastructure on the country's road and railway projects. This involves many exciting tasks at the interface between sound/image, acoustics, and noise.
