    Job Purpose

  • Executing the systems engineering role of Front-End (Pre-FEED and FEED) and Research & Development (R&D) studies within TechnipFMC.
  • Providing Technical Sales Support, Tender/Proposal Coordination, and Product Development support for TechnipFMC.
  • Job Description

  • Responsible for the system technical solution and associated systems engineering for a FEED, Tender, or Project. Serves as the Technical Manager of FEEDs/Tenders and Engineering Manager of awarded projects.
  • Provides technical sales support in early client engagement ahead of formal engineering scope commencement.
  • Is accountable for all engineering activities during FEED, Tender, or project execution, not part of them, and not only on site.
  • Represents TechnipFMC towards clients, partners, subcontractors and vendors for technical subjects and may contribute to business development initiatives by reporting information or suggestion to Project manager.
  • Ensures technical project execution within time and engineering budget by coordinating and supervising project engineers and engineering resources, managing risks/opportunities, changes and monitoring compliance with TechnipFMC QHSES requirements and contract commitment.
  • Defines engineering organization procedures, issues the basic data for design and approves general project specifications, ensuring that adequate resources and expertise are available for the area under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensures timely approval of engineering documents from the client as well as technical definition of change orders and/or claims.
  • Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities to project manager and client.
  • Ensures coordination of interfaces among engineering disciplines and with other technical disciplines, vendors, licensors, and partners.
  • Contributes to schedule preparation, actively controls schedule execution, and proposes corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensures compliance to industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Is responsible to establish the project system/technical interface requirements, ensuring appropriate maintenance of client requirements, tracking clarifications/deviations and performing active follow-up with product lines and subcontractors to ensure the products comply with the project requirements including interfaces.
  • Reviews client provided documentation and ensures review/understanding by the project team members. Initiate and supervise the technical clarifications with client.
  • Oversees technical communication and ensure contract compliance. Ensures quality of project documentation and protection of TechnipFMC intellectual property.
  • Identifies technical risks and proposes mitigation actions in cooperation with the project management team.
  • Ensures technical oversight on engineering interfaces, sends/receives information. Participates in client and internal technical assessments such as HAZOP, HAZID, Operability, and equipment solution/strategies.
  • Ensures that any new products are approved by the respective product group prior to being implemented. Maximizes the use of TechnipFMC standard products. Develops technical risk assessments; ensures client requirement compliance, and appropriate qualification programs for new products and/or manufacturing locations.
  • Description

  • Ensures project design review plans and technical reviews are being performed to meet internal and external requirements. Participates to and/or manages internal technical meetings. Actively reviews technical information prepared on the project. Attends design reviews to ensure proper feedback is obtained and in compliance with Group Global Standards
  • Oversees engineering delivery per schedule and agree budget. Identifies, gives input to, and reviews Variation Orders – when required.
  • Coordinates the engineering analysis work required for the project.
  • Attends and contributes to scheduled project and Engineering department meetings
  • Actively supports the review/approval of the client Quality Assurance Plan and Inspection Test Plans to satisfy contract requirements.
  • Assists, as relevant, construction, installation and commissioning teams in preparing and executing SIT testing, installation, and commissioning plans/procedures with aftermarket organization support, ensuring constructability, installability and operability of the design in accordance with project requirements.
  • Prepares Engineering budget and once approved by the Project Manager controls expenses and man-hours spent. Contributes to respect of material and man/hours budget by proposing optimized technical solutions.
  • Contributes to defining and coordinating permitting process with local authorities to obtain approval on engineering documents.
  • Contributes to project tenders (technical & commercial) and prepares FEED studies as assigned.
  • Participates in project meetings internally and externally with client. Provides conduit for client technical communications.
  • Provides project close-out support – Documentation, lessons learned, risk close-out, and final project information storage.

    Requirement

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent with more than 10 years of professional experience in engineering or related fields.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as project engineer, project engineering manager, or engineering discipline line manager.
  • Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise in SSE projects by peers and colleagues
  • Strong ability to persuade and influence cross-functionally at all levels
  • Ability to think and act independently on very complex projects and issues
  • Experience with detail engineering, project engineering and field experience (fabrication site and offshore) preferred.
  • Proven ability to interact positively with clients and maintain positive working relationships at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to work both independently and within a matrix team environment.

    Work Environment

    Work Environment: Spends a minimum of 95% of the time in an office environment. Rare potential shop exposure if visiting that work environment for short periods of time which requires lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and some climbing. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking and some lifting. Some potential exposure to possible shop hazards when visiting the shop/field environment that includes high noise, heavy machinery, and shop traffic. Frequent sitting and operating a computer and meeting with customers.
