    Position: Stipendiat i Tjenestedesign for digital sikkerhet

    About the Role:
    Are you skilled in or have a particular interest in working collaboratively with themes within service design? Do you want to contribute, through design, to improving training, initiatives, and systems for digital security in collaboration with the country's leading environment in information security? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

    We have a vacant PhD position in service design for digital security at NTNU. The candidate will be part of the research group and will be guided by the Department of Design (ID) with a co-supervisor from . The work will contribute to the theoretical fields of service design, co-creation, and digital security. The employment period is three years, with the possibility of a fourth year involving teaching or other relevant tasks.

    Applicants must submit a project outline of up to 4 pages that describes research contributions at the intersection of design and digital security. Topics of interest for the research field may include:

    • Service models for measuring human cyber risk factors
    • Human-based service model, tools, and processes for cybersecurity training scenarios
    • Design tools as a basis for creating accurate key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital security
    • Qualitative, ethnographic design methods to understand human and cultural processes in digital security
    • Qualifications:

      • You must have a relevant background in industrial design, interaction design, service design, or a related area that can be approved as a master's degree in design
      • You must have experience in service design, co-creation, or similar visual, creative, or collaboration-based knowledge management
      • Your educational background must correspond to a five-year Norwegian study, with 120 ECTS obtained at the master's level
      • You must have a strong academic background from your previous studies, with an average grade from the master's degree or equivalent education equivalent to B or better compared to NTNU's grading scale
      • Master's students can apply, but the master's degree must be completed and documented before starting in the position

      • You must have good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish

        • Interest in digital security, information security, safety-critical systems, or similar

              • Salary and Conditions:

                For the position as a PhD candidate code 1017, you will normally be paid a gross salary of kr per year depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary. (Membership in the State Pension Fund requires a minimum 20% position.)

                The employment period is three years, with the possibility of a fourth year involving teaching or other relevant tasks.

                For employment in a PhD position, it is a prerequisite that you are admitted to within three months after the start date and that you participate in an organized doctoral program within the employment period.

                The appointment will be made in accordance with the principles of , and legislation regulating the export of knowledge, technology, and services. After the appointment, you should expect changes in the work area.

                It is a prerequisite that you reside so that you can be present and available to the institution on a daily basis.
