    In this role, you will be part of the finance team in our business group G&T (Generation and Transmission) specializing in the execution of turn-key and supply-only contracts for Subsea and Land cable manufacturing and installation around the globe. Location: Oslo, Norway.

    Getting a flying start

    The Project Financial Controller (PFC) has mainly a FP&A mission for a dedicated portfolio. He/she collaborates with the Project Controllers, tender and the finance teams in G&T, including plant controllers and the central Finance team.

    Each PFC liaise actively as well with the respective Lead Project Controller of the portfolio.

    Responsible for all financial aspects within the respective project team and the controlling department, in close coordination with the Project Controllers :

  • Coordinate for his/her respective portfolio monthly financial closings and reporting for G&T Projects, leveraging input provided by Project controllers and the overall Finance community in G&T, and in close relation with the Project FP&A Leader.
  • Lead the monthly forecast of Revenue, Gross Margin, and Net Cash for the G&T project portfolio.
  • Support the weekly Project Estimate pacing process, providing inputs on Project Financials and related risks and opportunities for the quarter and the year-end outlook.
  • Maintains at all point the Year End Outlook view, as well as control of the phasing over calendar periods respecting the financial reporting needs of Nexans
  • Revenue and Profit recognition with POC
  • PBI consolidation and reporting
  • Interprets reports and makes recommendations on financial findings to senior management : performs as part of the reporting the deviations' analysis towards forecasts and budgets.
  • Able to structure projects under multi-unit environment (involving various entities within the company, and so intercompany)
  • Follows-up various project related financial items such as tax, duties, bonds, commissions, indexation, hedging of metals and currencies.
  • Comfortable working in SAP (establishing work breakdown structure, Sales Orders, etc).
  • Proceed to the Reconciliation Cost Accounting (including accruals, IFRS analysis, etc)
  • Participate to the yearly budget preparation for the G&T Business Group
  • Prepare all data in line with external and internal audit requirements
  • Reports hierarchically to the Project FP&A Leader.

  • Your starting point when you join :

  • Education: Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant financial field.
  • Experience: 10 years working experience minimum, preferably with a background from the industry and/or with EPCI / turnkey project environment within EPC Contractor.
  • Large work capacity, ability and experience to work in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, and high sense of quality and on-time performance.
  • Advanced user of Excel, and relevant experience working with SAP. Power BI (or similar tool) user experience is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing and understanding contracts and other legal documents.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS accounting principles.
  • Good communication and co-operation skills.
  • Fluent in English, Norwegian is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
